Very rare manual V8 in desirable colour Zircon blue, in excellent condition and with new RWC and club (special interest) registration. This is a very special car. For further details ring Craig Barraud at WW Shock Absorbers in Virginia. A very rare opportunity to own a car in this condition.

The owner's story:
This car was purchased in April 1987 from Grand Prix Motors, Aspley, following my casual enquiry to proprietor Joe Camillery that I “wouldn’t mind a 5 speed model.

I acquired the car on 27/03/86 on behalf of our company, A.Miles & Co., taking delivery with 10,560 K on the odometer. Grand Prix had it sent to Brisbane from Sydney where it had been used by one of JRA's executives.

My first journey was to Gayndah to spend that Easter with my Parents in Law who, at that time, lived there.

The official use for the Rover was to enable me to carry out my company role at that time, which was to travel to liaise with customers in Queensland and Northern New South Wales. This meant driving to all the coastal towns from Brisbane to Cairns, Atherton Tableland, west to Roma, Clermont and Murwillumbah, Byron Bay, Lismore and Grafton.

Whilst home, the car provided transport for my family, as well as weekend trips to visit parents in law in Gayndah, then Hervey Bay.

Country travelling came to an end for me in 1991 when I took over managing our company from my father, and the Rover became our second car, being called upon only occasionally. Regrettably, Rovers had at that time earned a poor re-sale value, so the decision to keep it proved to be correct for us.

Serviced by Grand Prix during it's “working life,” in later times I performed my own oil changes and general servicing everysix months, regardless of distance travelled. I was told that regular oil changes are essential for the life of the GM based engine, camshaft in particular, and this appears to have paid dividends.

Having moved to a retirement village some years ago, and having even less use for a second vehicle,it was decided that as my health was not 100%, I would pass the car on so that it could be appreciated by its next custodian. I trust its new owner has as much pleasure from this car as I.
